A website wired into your business, not just into your logo
Most sites are a brochure: handsome on the day they launch, then unchanged for four years. What you need is not a brochure but a link in the chain — something that knows what is in stock, what has been sold and what needs invoicing.
The old world
A template with your logo on it, and a stack of licences underneath
Most websites are the same theme as your competitor's, in different colours. Underneath sits a stack of plug-ins that has to be renewed every year, that get in each other's way, and one of which always breaks after an update. You pay annually for parts you never chose.
And after launch it freezes. Your stock lives in another system, your orders arrive as e-mail, and your bookkeeping retypes all of it. The site never became part of your business; it became a separate place you occasionally edit.
Example: what a template site costs each year
- Theme and plug-in licences
- € 300 – € 900 per year
- Hosting and maintenance contract
- € 600 – € 1,800 per year
- Changes at an hourly rate
- € 500 – € 1,500 per year
- Every year again, without the site getting better
- € 1,400 – € 4,200 per year
Example amounts. We put your own costs next to them, with your invoices and renewals on the table.
The turn
A site is a link in the chain, not a business card
We build ourselves, without the licence stack. That is not a matter of principle but a practical one: what you own does not break because a supplier discontinues their plug-in, and it is not slower than necessary because thirty scripts you never use are riding along. The site you are reading weighs less than half a megabyte and is built in both languages from a single source.
The design is half the work; the other half is what it is wired into. A webshop that does not know what is in stock sells things that are not there. A quote form that arrives as e-mail still has to be retyped. We build those connections in, because otherwise a new site fixes nothing but its appearance.
A handsome site that knows nothing is an expensive brochure. The difference is whether it runs along with the rest of your business or sits beside it.
And it can go further than a shop. For our own customers we built a design tool in the browser, where the customer composes their own print and sees the price move along. That is not a plug-in you buy — that is exactly the kind of thing that sets you apart from your competitor.
What we built on our own floor
Three sites, three different problems
Not portfolio pictures but what had to happen under the bonnet.
- A webshop 7,676 products and 183,257 variants from four supplier sources, with stock and price per supplier underneath.
- A configurator A design tool in the browser: the customer places their logo, picks the size and watches the price move. Running live in the shop.
- A brand site Three thousand images brought down from 538 to 157 megabytes without visible loss of quality. The site became noticeably faster on phones.
- This site Built bilingual from one source, without a theme and without plug-ins. Under half a megabyte, and the build throws an error the moment a text is missing anywhere.
- Continuously All three run on one server of our own, watched by the same agent that cleans up and updates at night.
Each of these is possible with a template too. Just not fast, not cheap, and not without buying licences for it.
Why better, not just cheaper
What a shop-bought theme does not do
A purchased theme is made to fit as many businesses as possible. So it does everything a little and nothing precisely — and you pay in weight and in licences for the eighty per cent you never use.
- Speed as the starting pointNo thirty scripts riding along. Speed is not a luxury: it is the first thing a visitor notices and the first thing a search engine looks at.
- No annual licence stackWhat we build is yours. There is no supplier who can double their price next year or discontinue their plug-in.
- Connected to the restStock, orders, invoicing and customer contact hang on the same data. Enter once, correct everywhere.
- Your agents run inside itThe chat on your site is the same member of staff as on WhatsApp and on the phone. Not three systems that do not know each other.
- Accessible and measurableReadable contrast, works with a keyboard, and still readable without JavaScript. That is not an extra — that is how it should be.
The new world
What changes about your website
Your site is no longer a separate place but part of how your business runs. What changes in your stock changes there. What is ordered arrives where it belongs. And what a customer asks is answered by the same member of staff who helps them on WhatsApp.
It also stops ageing the way you are used to. Nothing expires, nothing needs renewing, and nothing breaks because somebody else released an update.
Not a brochure. A link in the chain.
Getting started
What you have to do yourself
One conversation about what your site has to do, not about how it should look — that follows by itself. We look at what you already have running, say honestly whether renewing is worth it, and start with the connections that take the most work off your hands.
Frequently asked questions about web design and webshops
Can I edit texts and products myself?
Yes. Everything that changes regularly — texts, products, prices, photos — you manage yourself, without calling us in. What you do not have to do yourself is maintenance, updates and technology.
Do you build on WordPress or fully bespoke?
Both happen, and the choice depends on what the site has to do. A webshop with thousands of products is at home on WordPress and WooCommerce; a site that mainly has to tell who you are is faster and steadier if we build it ourselves. We do not choose in advance, we choose after your first question.
Is the site mine?
Yes, including the code and the server. If you stop working with us, everything stays where it is. That is exactly why we do not build on a platform you can never leave.
How long does it take?
A manageable site is a matter of weeks; a webshop with thousands of products and several suppliers takes longer, and that is mostly the data rather than the design. What it will be in your case, we say only after we have seen your situation.
What does a website cost?
That depends on what it has to do and what it has to be wired into. We deliberately have no standard price list, because then we would be selling you a package instead of a solution. The first conversation and the review cost you nothing.
